Tata Idea Idol launched at Oxford University

The 2013 Tata Idea Idol was launched on November 21 at Saïd Business School, Oxford University. The Tata-sponsored competition is Oxford Entrepreneurs’ flagship business idea competition. Oxford Entrepreneurs is the largest student society at Oxford University and has now become the largest free business and entrepreneurship society in Europe.

The competition involves a series of training events where Oxford’s students formulate business ideas for a chance to win £10,000. The competition concludes in a grand finale, which will take place in February 2013.

The launch event explained the details of the competition and featured speakers including:

  • Ambarish Mitra, founder of the world’s first mobile augmented reality and image recognition platform.
  • Damian Kimmelman, founder of UK’s largest database of free company information.

Tata has a long and cherished association with UK academia and celebrates entrepreneurship. Tata believes initiatives like this are essential in inspiring and nurturing innovation and building a culture that encourages the creation and implementation of new ideas.
